Electronic Delivery of Graduate Engineering (EDGE) is provided for the graduate student who cannot participate in on-campus classes. The requirements are the same as for any other graduate degree, but courses are offered via streaming video and download to your machine for offline viewing. Students interested in completing their Master of Science (Non-Thesis) degree via distance learning must be admitted into the graduate program in Materials Science and Engineering. To apply see our website.

Application Process

• Before applying, review the graduate program requirements at: http://www.mse.ufl.edu/prospective/grad.php.
• In addition, you should view the UF EDGE admissions information which can be found on-line at: http://www.ufedge.eng.ufl.edu/students/admissions.php.
• To complete the graduate application process follow steps 1-4 from our website at: http://www.mse.ufl.edu/prospective/application/graduate.php.
• All application materials must be sent to the Department.
• Once complete, your graduate application file will be reviewed by the Department and a letter will be sent to you electronically regarding the admission decision.

To be eligible for regular admission to the graduate program within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the applicant must hold a B.S. in an appropriate major.

Admission Requirements

• Admission is based on the entire graduate application.
• Strong background in engineering or science with at least a B average (GPA=3.0/4.0) for all upper-division undergraduate coursework.
• GRE scores that are acceptable to the MSE Department.
• 3 letters of recommendation.
• A short statement of purpose.
