Only nine hours of graduate level courses earned with a grade of B or better, may be transferred from an institution approved by the Graduate School or 15 credit hours from post baccalaureate work at the University of Florida. Credits transferred from other universities will be applied toward meeting the degree requirements but the grades earned will not be computed in the student's grade point average. Acceptance of transfer of credit requires approval by the student's Supervisory Committee Chair or the Chairman of the Department as well as the approval of the Dean of the College and the Dean of the Graduate School.
A maximum of 30 credit hours from a master's degree from another institution may be transferred to count towards a Ph.D. Degree. This transfer of credits can only be counted with approval from both the Department and the Graduate School. All master's degrees transfer credits counted in the 90-hour minimum must have been earned in the last seven years.
The student's advisor must approve transfer of credit hours from a master's degree. The student must inform the academic office after receiving approval from their advisor for the paperwork to be processed.
