Students who are financially supported by the department or by a sponsored research of a faculty member may also receive a tuition waiver, which covers 9 credit hours in the Fall and Spring terms and 6 during the Summer. Students who are supported by fellowships usually are required to enroll for 12 credit hours in the Fall and Spring terms and 8 during the Summer.
Students must be registered properly to avoid unnecessary late fees for registration or payment. If you are not registered for the correct number of hours, your tuition waiver will be delayed which could result in late fee penalties. This procedure will continue as long as the legislature provides the funds for it or as long as the sponsored project has the necessary funds.
Approximate remaining fees (2002 – 2003 fees are $32.02 per credit hour for Florida residents and $55.27 per credit hour for non-Florida residents) to be paid by the student for health insurance, activities and services, etc.
Please note if you are on an Assistantship taxes are withheld from your paychecks. Your registration hours are set for 9 hours during fall and spring and 6 hours during summer while you are under an Assistantship classification.
