Nimbus Technology based on a patent authored by Chris Batich for non-leaching wound healing bandages got FDA approval earlier this year through the new accelerated mode of approval reserved for the most novel devices. Today Quick-Med announced the first commercial sales of the Nimbus wound care products.
This [NIMBUS] is the first bound, antimicrobial material — rather than delivering an antimicrobial into the wound, it creates a barrier that won't allow bacteria to penetrate the dressing or grow in the wound fluid.
