Second Open House

We were delighted with the attendance at the MSE open house last weekend for incoming freshmen. Over 140 parents and students attended the open house. The FEI corporation sent a Phenom™ Desktop SEM and two scientists (Roger Alvis and John Caola) to help with the Open House event. Students had a hands-on experience in labs, tours of the facilities and a chance to operate the Phenom™; SEM. Parents and students alike were amazed at the simplicity of the tool and enjoyed looking at a variety of samples in this novel SEM. Roger Alvis also help by taking the pictures shown below. Our goal was for everyone to have a great time learning about MSE and we look forward to seeing many of the new students this fall.
