MSE Grad And VP Of Solyndra Celebrate

On Sept. 4, 2009, the financing and groundbreaking of Solyndra's new Fab 2 facility was announced. Dr. Kelly Truman VP Marketing and Business Development and UF MSE graduate and Dr. Chris Gronet CEO of Solyndra and Honorary Gator joined U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Secretary of Energy and Nobel Prize winner Steven Chu, and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger along with our investors, employees, local politicians, and Fab 2 construction partners in breaking ground on Fab 2.
The $730M fab will produce 500 MW of solar panels annually using the unique Solyndra approach to solar energy production. This facility will help Solyndra to fulfill its backlog of over $2B in orders.
